Tuesday - Saturday: 10:00 - 17:00
Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays:
12:00 - 17:00.
Closed Mondays and Tuesday 5 June.

Please note this exhibition is not ticketed. At peak times of the year there may be timed entry on the day, but normally access to the gallery will be allowed on arrival when you come to see the exhibition within opening hours.

Although entry is free, a donation to the Museum is welcome.

A suggested donation of £5 on entry to the gallery will help support the Museum, conservation of our works, our work in the community and future exhibitions.

Photography is not allowed in the galleries. If you have a particular need to take photographs, please contact us in advance so that we can arrange a permit for you.

The exhibition is located in galleries 10, 11, 12 and 13. The education suite, with seminar room, studio and schools cloakroom and lunchroom is located on the lower ground floor.


Facilities & access

The Exhibition is located on the first floor of the Museum, and can be reached via the street level Courtyard Entrance, where lifts are available.

Ginger slicer


The café is situated in the covered courtyard area of the museum near the Courtyard Entrance and serves an all-day menu including morning coffee, afternoon tea, sandwiches and light lunches. It operates in a cafeteria style; place your order at the counter, take a seat, and your food and drink will be brought to you. Table service is also available if required.

The cafe opens when the museum opens and closes 30 minutes before museum closing time.
